New School Year Checklist
Stressed about back-to-school? Your PTO is here to help with a checklist to get you ready for the first day of school.
TO DO:
- Download the PowerSchool app for official school announcements, teacher communications, grades, attendance, etc. (when prompted, enter the SAISD district code: XSZN)
- Download the SchoolCafé app to manage your student's cafeteria account
- Apply for the Free & Reduced Lunch program* through the SchoolCafé app
- Sign up for Peachjar to get school and community digital flyers
- Buy school supplies and pack them up for your student to bring to school (if you ordered School Kidz Supply Kits through the PTO last spring, your student's kit will be delivered to their classroom for you)
- If you plan to volunteer on campus this year, complete a Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS)* application with SAISD
- And finally... join the Santa Rita PTO, tell us how you'd like to get involved, and help us build the strongest school community in town!
PLAN:
- Attend Meet the Teacher with your student on at 5:30pm on the Tuesday before school starts (Aug 11th)
- Review the SAISD district calendar (or print it out here)
- Review this year's bell schedule: 1st bell 7:35am, tardy bell 7:45am, release time 3:15pm
- Breakfast is served daily in the cafeteria from 7:15 - 7:35am and is free for all students
- Get to know the drop-off and pick-up procedures for our school
